Mark Jr here, hoping you’ve all had a great holiday season and are starting off this New Year in high style! My father, a few friends, an uncle and myself headed for Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec for a few days of snowmobiling on December 26…fantastic conditions, welcoming hospitality and temperatures that were warmer than Moosehead, and we were four hours NORTH of Rockwood!
We had an excellent summer here in Rockwood last year. Lots of new Godfrey Pontoons, South Bay Pontoons, Regal Boats and Ranger Tugs found new homes, as did many of our quality pre-owned vessels. Our service department was busy with all aspects of boat maintenance, including some Yamaha outboard repowers and MerCruiser sterndrive repowers. Our slips were nearly 100% full, our staff was busier than ever and we got to meet some fantastic new people while reconnecting with our current customers. We had our docks and riverside deck repainted last season, some minor site work completed and moved some of our aging inventory out of the yard.
For the upcoming season, we are happy to share some news about upgrades to our systems and our grounds. Firstly, we’ve had some site work done to the facility grounds on the far side of our lot closest to the bridge. This will allow for increased parking lot capacity, a solid surface to display new/used inventory and make the place look cleaner. We’re also installing all new LED lighting on the riverside deck and parking lot. Also in the works this winter/spring will be an interior addition to the shop which includes a new additional office and improved service writing area! My father will remain in the current office, with myself in the new office taking care of sales and service items. We felt a more private, cleaner space for customers with the ability to “close a door” from the service area will allow us to look, feel and perform at a higher level.
In addition to these updates and upgrades, we are moving to a new accounting and service system within the marina. With new computers and a new, cloud-based computer system, we will be able to track and log in all sales, service, parts and inventory data with ease. Our work orders will no longer be hand-written, but based off of flat-rate guides and pricing that is all preloaded onto the platform we will be employing.
We hope that all of this news translates into an improved, more enjoyable service experience with us! We are looking forward to implementing all of this within the next month or so, and will share photos on our Facebook page of our progress!
